Considered Song Choices

From the start of this project as a group we decided that we were going to use music that formed a Rap/Sung collaboration so first of all we considered these songs:

• Magic - B.o.B feat Rivers Cuomo


• Dead and Gone - T.I feat Justin Timberlake


• Cross My Heart - Skepta feat Preeya Kalidas


• Fireworks - Drake feat Alicia Keys


• Love the Way You Lie - Eminem feat Rihanna


• Airplanes - B.o.B feat Hayley Williams

After looking at all of our suggested songs collectively we decided that the best choice of song would be 'Fireworks' - Drake ft. Alicia Keys. We chose this song because had all the requirements which we wanted to include in our video. The elements and requirements we wanted to have in our music video were;

Male & Female music artists
Set in the City (preferably London)
Joint story line and solo performance
Narration
A song which hadn't been in the charts
Individual reasons for not choosing songs

Why we didn't choose these songs:

Airplanes - B.o.B ft. Hayley Williams - This song did fit a lot of our criteria but it had already been in the charts ( was number 1). Popularity would have been a very big factor if we were to attempt to do this song.
Love The Way You Lie - Eminem ft. Rihanna - Another song that did match our song criteria but was in the charts, it reached number 2 and now has over 120million youtube views.
Cross My Heart - Skepta ft. Preeya Kalidas - We didn't choose this because it was too short (2.33) it also had a very complicated video which we couldn't compete with.
Dead and Gone - T.I ft Justin Timberlake - This song has two male artists which did not our criteria.
